About the Author - Luke Palmer is a critically acclaimed author and poet. His debut novel, Grow, was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award for new voices in children's literature and longlisted for both the Carnegie Medal and UKLA Book Award. His follow up, Play, was released in late 2023, praised as ‘gut wrenching and glorious’ by Keith Gray (The Den, The Climbers) and ‘poetic and astonishing’ by Joanna Nadin (A Calamity of Mannerings, The Double Life of Daisy Hemmings). He was the 2022 winner of the Winchester Poetry Prize and is widely published in journals and anthologies. His first full collection, Homunculus, was released in early 2024 and follows two pamphlets, Spring in the Hospital, which won the 2018 Prole Pamphlet contest, and In all my books my father dies. He lives in Wiltshire with his young family and teaches English at a secondary school.
