Parade Gardens
Parade Gardens is the well-manicured waterside park, positioned where the River Avon meets the infamous Pulteney Bridge and the Pulteney Weir. You'll need to pay £1.50 admission at the entrance to the ramp down to the gardens (unless you are a Bath resident, in which case your Discovery Card will get you free admission) but, with it's cafe and plenty of shaded seating, it's the perfect place to stop, rest, and watch the hustle and bustle of the city go by.
You'll have a great view of the weir, Pulteney Bridge, The Grand Parade, even the tip of Bath Abbey. Garden enthusiasts will love the array of flower beds while families will find children's entertainment in the band stand during the summer months, as well as deck chairs for lounging in the strong Somerset sun.
There's no better place to stop and rest for the city's busy shoppers.
