Next dates
Sorry, there are no future dates available
The Canal & River Trust's volunteer lock keepers will provide on the job training, teaching you the skills to become a Junior Lock Keeper. This involves helping boaters move safely through the locks in the beautiful historic city of Bath and helping keep the water flowing through these amazing structures... and giving a cheery wave to boaters and towpath users too!
Sessions are 1 hr long and The Canal & River Trust's friendly lock keepers will meet you at Lock 13 (post code: BA2 6DH, what3words: apples.dust.soil). Please arrive 5-10 mins before your session is due to start.
Sessions are aimed at people between the ages of 8 and 16yrs. Parents / guardians must accompany the young person at all times (however please only book a space for the young person(s). Please ensure appropriate clothing is worn as well as sturdy shoes with good grip. The Canal & River Trust will provide a lifejacket and will do a safety briefing.
After your lock keeping session, there are some great walks along the canal that you can explore!
