Bath Area Play Project

Places to Visit

Bath Area Play Project are a small voluntary organisation that were established in 1979 to support the child’s right to play and have since its inception facilitated a range of play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities.

None of these are possible without the commitment and enthusiasm of the staff, trustee and volunteer teams.

We have a very high retention rate for both staff and trustees!

Many of the services that we provide today are very similar to how we started with the child and young person at the centre of everything that we do.

Not only that but we have a playful creative approach to every aspect of our work and the flexibility to be able to adapt and respond to changing needs.

Three offered programmes include...

  • Targeted Holiday Playschemes are specialist services for disabled children and young people and we deliver this contract as Lead Partner with 3 other organisations; KIDS, Bath Opportunity Pre-school and Fosse Way School.
  • Inclusive Holiday Playschemes are for disabled and non-disabled children and young people; 5 – 12 years provision is at the Hut in Twerton during Easter, Summer and October school holidays and 12 – 19+ years provision is during the summer only with our SOFA (Summer Of Fun Activity) programme.
  • SOFA is part of our youth programme which also includes Teenage Rampage, an evening weekly youth club for disabled teenagers aged 13 – 19 years and BA2 for all young people aged 11 – 17 years, again weekly and both provided at Odd Down Community Centre.
